via Anima, via Pragmatica

exhibition: 13/03/2022 - 24/04/2022

While working towards a large holistic installation in September this year, a small intermezzo took place. Thus opening a moment that allows us to tap into the stream of the creative process. In his words, this show can be perceived as a walk along his riverbeds. Among more defined entities and sculptures that will be part of the installation, we find other works that are harbingers of what is yet to come. Giving us a unique opportunity to gain insight on his pragmatic process and flow of creation. Besides the larger functional works, he used this moment to gather and display what is produced along the way. Side objects and materials that were perceived by the artist as materialized white noise, are revaluated and given new life as they become the source and origin of new constructs and concepts. Within this intimate space you will find series of artefacts, study objects, new works and younger entities.

Anthony Leenders, 1995 (BE, Leuven) studied at the Royal Academy of Arts in Ghent (KASK). With a background in architecture, furniture design and visual arts, he develops environments that guide us to an alternative way of living and acting. After living and working in Argentina he started to pursuit a more holistic approach, closing the gap between the material and spiritual worlds we live in. His works are primarily presented through installations, containing both sculptural and functional objects that often carry a symbolic and spiritual value. Recognizing these objects more as influential entities, he perceives them as tools for living that help us navigate towards a more balanced existence. Living and acting in accordance with the language of the natural landscape, he aims to generate habitats that remind us on our values and of our position as a species on this living planet. By doing so he conjures a world of continuity, respect, contemplation, discovery and attention.
